Grosser Mythen is the pointed mountain that dominates Schwyz from the east. It is not especially high by Alpine standards, but its shape is dramatic, and the summit view reaches across Lake Lucerne, the Muotatal, and the Central Swiss Alps.
The climb is steep and exposed enough to deserve respect. Go in dry summer conditions, start early, and do not treat it as a casual stroll just because it is close to town.
