Ital-Reding-Haus is one of Schwyz's old patrician mansions, built in the period when service as Swiss mercenaries brought money and status back to the town. The house is run as a living museum, with interiors that show the wealth and taste of the 18th century.
The grounds also include Bethlehem House, a restored wooden house from the 13th century. Together they make this one of the better stops for understanding old Schwyz beyond the national founding story.
