Olympia Bob Run St. Moritz–Celerina

The Olympia Bob Run is the only naturally iced bobsled track still in operation in the world. All other competition tracks are artificially refrigerated; this one relies entirely on cold nights and careful waterwork to build and maintain the ice. It was constructed in 1904, served two Winter Olympic Games (1928 and 1948), and still hosts World Cup races and European championships each season.

The track descends from above Celerina to the valley floor over a length of 1,722 metres, reaching speeds of 135 km/h in the bends. Visitors can ride as a passenger in a four-man bob piloted by a professional driver on public bob taxi days — a brief, violent, and exhilarating way to understand why bobsled is a sport and not merely a fairground ride. The season runs roughly from January to March.
