Synagogue Beit Biniamin Tfila was built in 1923 and is valued for its preserved interior paintings by a local artist. From 1959 to 1994, it was the only functioning synagogue in Chernivtsi.
It is a quieter stop than the city's university complex or main squares, but it helps explain Chernivtsi's Jewish heritage and religious diversity.
