Turetska Krynytsia Square preserves traces of the Turkish community that lived just outside Chernivtsi's old city walls in the 17th century. The square is centred on an old well and stone fountain, with a reconstructed wooden pavilion built in an Oriental style above the spring.
The nearby Turkish Bridge adds to the ensemble. It is a small stop, but a useful one for seeing how Chernivtsi's layered history extends beyond the grand Austro-Hungarian streets.
