Sevastopol is a city dense with military history, from the ancient Greek ruins at Chersonesus to the battlefields of the Crimean War and the siege memorials of World War II. The historic city centre around Nakhimov Square and the harbourfront makes a good base for walking, with the key sites within a few kilometres.
