The entertainment complex built around the Donbas Arena included a cluster of bars and restaurants that filled up on match days and served a younger, sports-oriented crowd throughout the week. Arena City was one of the better of these: a large open space with screens showing sport, a long beer list, and food that held up reasonably well under the pressure of post-match crowds. Before 2014 it had become a fixture of city nightlife even on non-match days.
