Getting There

Most international arrivals normally come through Boryspil International Airport (KBP), about 30 km southeast of the city. A skybus runs frequently between the airport and the central train station and is the cheapest way in; taxis cost more but are still inexpensive. The smaller Zhuliany Airport (IEV), inside the city, handles regional flights.

The Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi train station is the main rail hub, with overnight services to Lviv, Odessa, Kharkiv, and Kraków, plus a faster Intercity+ network linking the major Ukrainian cities. International buses run to Warsaw, Berlin, and several Balkan capitals.

Note that since the 2022 Russian invasion, civilian air travel into Ukraine has been suspended; rail and bus connections from Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, and Moldova are the only routes in. Check current security and travel advisories before planning a visit.
