Pre-war, it had connections to most major European cities; the situation has changed significantly since February 2022 and you should verify current routes before planning a trip. Train connections from Kyiv take about 7-9 hours overnight; the main station is on Pryvokzalna Square, about 15 minutes on foot from the city centre. Buses and marshrutkas connect Odessa to other Ukrainian cities. The city is also reachable by ferry from Istanbul and Romanian ports, though schedules are irregular.
