Wivenhoe Park

Wivenhoe Park is a 200-acre landscape park on the edge of Colchester, best known outside Essex because John Constable painted it in 1816. The University of Essex now occupies part of the estate, so the park mixes older trees and open lawns with campus buildings.

It is a gentle stop rather than a major sight, useful if you are exploring Wivenhoe or want a quieter green space east of Colchester.
