Great Yarmouth Minster is a genuinely impressive building that most visitors walk past without realising what it is. The church's nave is vast — the largest in any English parish church — and the interior rewards a proper look. The medieval stonework, the nineteenth-century restoration by John Loughborough Pearson, and the memorials to Yarmouth's seafaring history all repay attention.
The Minster is in the old town on the western side of the peninsula, away from the seafront bustle. It is surrounded by the surviving fragments of the medieval town walls and is worth combining with a walk along the walls and a visit to the Row Houses a short distance to the south.
