The Waterfront is the best area for an evening drink, with several bars in the converted warehouse buildings along Neptune Quay. The town centre has a cluster of pubs on and around Tavern Street and the Cornhill. Suffolk produces some very good ales — Adnams from Southwold and Greene King from Bury St Edmunds are the most widely available, but smaller local breweries appear on tap at the better pubs.
