The heart of the Waterfront's bar scene, Neptune Quay has several options for a drink with a view of the water and the marina. The converted Victorian warehouse buildings house a mix of bars and restaurants, none especially adventurous but most perfectly decent. In summer the outdoor seating areas fill up quickly on warm evenings.
This is the most atmospheric part of Ipswich after dark, especially in good weather. Walk along the full length of the quay before choosing — the stretch from the lock gates to Wherry Quay has the best options.
