St Peter's Church

One of Ipswich's dozen surviving medieval churches, St Peter's near the Waterfront is worth a look for its flint-work exterior and the contrast it provides to the converted warehouses around it. The church dates from the 14th century and was built using the knapped flint that is characteristic of East Anglian ecclesiastical architecture — a technique that produces a shimmering, mosaic-like wall surface.

The church is not always open to visitors, but the exterior and the small churchyard can be seen freely. It's an easy stop when walking between the town centre and the Waterfront.
