Camden Passage

Cobbled Islington passage of antique shops, vintage stalls, and cafés off Upper Street

Camden Passage — confusingly, in Islington rather than Camden — is a cobbled pedestrian lane just off Upper Street near Angel, lined with antique shops, vintage clothing dealers, jewellers, bookstalls, and a scatter of good cafés and restaurants. It has been an antiques pitch since the 1960s and keeps a browsable, slightly bohemian feel that the smarter end of Upper Street has lost.

The market stalls are busiest on Wednesdays and Saturdays, when bric-à-brac, prints, silverware, and curiosities spill along the passage. Even on quiet days the permanent shops are worth a slow wander, and the cafés make it an easy place to spend an Islington morning. Come early on a market day for the best of the stalls.
