Strand-on-the-Green is a handsome riverside stretch of Chiswick, lined with listed houses and old pubs facing the Thames. It is best visited as part of a walk along the towpath toward Kew or Chiswick Mall, with river views and a strong village feel despite being deep inside west London.
The path can flood at high tide, so check the river level before setting out.
