Mr B's is known for its "reading spa" — a personalised book recommendation session where a bookseller interviews you about your tastes over a glass of champagne and emerges with a stack of handpicked suggestions. It needs to be booked in advance and costs around eighty pounds, which includes the books.
Even without the reading spa, this is a beautifully curated shop with an excellent fiction selection, a strong children's section, and knowledgeable staff who genuinely love recommending books. The shop has won multiple awards including Independent Bookshop of the Year. The ground floor is small but there is more space upstairs. A good spot to pick up something to read on the train home.
