Hanley Park

Restored Victorian park designed by Thomas Mawson

Hanley Park is a fine late-Victorian public park between Hanley town centre and the railway station, designed by the landscape architect Thomas Mawson and opened in 1894. The bandstand, pavilion, ornamental lake, and Italianate bridges have all been carefully restored, and the park is now Grade II* listed.

It is a pleasant short detour if you are walking between the station and Hanley. The Cauldon Canal runs through one corner. The park is busiest in summer with weekend events at the bandstand and a community-run pavilion serving tea, coffee, and cake.
