The centrepiece of Bradford's central civic regeneration, opened in 2012 — an open public square dominated by the Mirror Pool, a shallow reflecting pond with over 100 computer-controlled fountains that put on programmed displays through the day. The pool drains in summer to become a paddling pool for children; at night it lights up in shifting colours.
The square is bordered by the City Hall to the south and the Magistrates Court to the east. Bradford runs concerts, film screenings and the annual Bradford Festival in the park through the summer months. It has been the single most successful piece of public realm in the city's recent regeneration and is busy in any decent weather.
