Bradford has two central rail stations within five minutes' walk of each other but not directly connected by rail — a peculiarity of the city's Victorian planning. Bradford Forster Square handles services north towards Skipton, Ilkley and the Yorkshire Dales, plus the direct line to London King's Cross via Leeds. Bradford Interchange handles services east to Halifax and Manchester and south to Sheffield.
Leeds is fifteen minutes by frequent train and is the natural hub for connecting to the rest of Yorkshire. Leeds Bradford International Airport is twenty minutes by taxi or roughly forty by bus. By car, the city is on the M606 spur off the M62, putting Manchester, Sheffield and Liverpool within easy reach.
