Downpatrick and County Down Railway

Heritage railway running short steam and diesel trips from Downpatrick toward Inch Abbey.

Downpatrick and County Down Railway is a heritage railway based beside the bus station. It runs on a short stretch of restored track, with services on selected days toward Inch Abbey and through the old railway landscape south of town.

The line is especially good if you are travelling with children or have a soft spot for preserved railways. Check running days before building a day around it; outside those times, the museum side may still interest railway enthusiasts.
