Fyvie is inland farming country with no beach of its own, but the Aberdeenshire coast is within 25–30 miles. The Sands of Forvie nature reserve on the east coast has dunes and a long beach. A 17-mile stretch of sand runs from Peterhead north to St Combs past Rattray Head lighthouse. Fraserburgh Bay has a 2-mile beach. New Aberdour has a sheltered beach with caves. Banff Links has a pleasant sandy beach on the Moray Firth. All are within a 30-minute drive.
