Orkney's food scene is small but punchier than its size suggests. The islands' lamb, beef, cheese, ice cream, fish, scallops, and oysters are excellent, and a handful of restaurants in Kirkwall and Stromness do them justice. Outside the two main towns, expect pub food, baking, and the odd seafood shack.
