Aber Swing Bridge

A small Victorian iron swing bridge crosses the mouth of the Seiont just below the castle, linking Caernarfon's harbour to the Coed Helen peninsula and the road south. Built in 1900 and still operated mechanically by hand, it swings open to let yachts through when the tide is right.

The bridge is a pleasant short walk from the harbour and gives the best low-angle view of the castle's western towers rising straight out of the water. The path on the far side leads down to a small beach and walks along the coast towards Tan-y-Foel.
