Galeri is a contemporary arts centre on Doc Victoria, the regenerated harbour basin just north of the walled town. It opened in 2005 and includes a cinema, a 392-seat theatre, gallery space, rehearsal rooms, and a café-restaurant with a terrace over the harbour. Programming is bilingual — much of the theatre work is in Welsh — and ranges from local productions to touring shows from Cardiff and London.
For travellers it is most useful in three ways: as the cinema in town, as a place to eat dinner on the harbour, and as a way to catch live performance in Welsh-language theatre, which is otherwise hard to come across. The café is open during the day even when nothing is on.
