Conwy's historic core is small enough to explore on foot, and the main sights cluster within or just outside the town walls. The castle and walls together form a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but they are far from the only things worth your time. Plas Mawr is one of the best-preserved Elizabethan townhouses in Britain, Aberconwy House is a rare example of a medieval merchant's home, and the quayside has its own eccentric charm — including the famous red fisherman's cottage that holds the record as Britain's smallest house.
