Aruba's Queen Beatrix International Airport (AUA) is well connected for a small island. Direct flights run from Miami, New York, Atlanta, Houston, Charlotte, Toronto, and Amsterdam, among others. From Europe, KLM flies nonstop from Amsterdam. From the US, American Airlines, JetBlue, United, Delta, and Southwest all serve Aruba. Flight time from New York is about four and a half hours; from Amsterdam, about nine.
The airport is 3 km southeast of Oranjestad. There is no public bus from the terminal — take a taxi or arrange a hotel transfer. Taxis are not metered but use fixed rates based on destination. Expect to pay around $25 to the high-rise hotel area on Palm Beach.
Aruba is also a regular stop on southern Caribbean cruise itineraries. Ships dock at the cruise terminal in Oranjestad, right in the centre of town.
