When to Go

Aruba is genuinely a year-round destination. The temperature barely moves — sitting around 28°C (82°F) throughout the year — and the trade winds blow steadily enough to keep it comfortable even in the hottest months. The island sits south of the main hurricane belt, so it avoids the worst of what hits other Caribbean islands from June to November.

High season (mid-December to mid-April) is when the island is busiest and most expensive. The weather is at its driest and the breezes are pleasant. Carnival, which runs from January through early March, is a major draw but also means higher prices and a need to book accommodation well in advance.

Shoulder season (May to July) offers a good balance: prices drop, crowds thin, and the weather stays largely dry. This is a reasonable time to visit if you want value without sacrificing decent conditions.

Low season (August to November) brings the occasional rain shower and slightly higher humidity, but the temperature barely changes. Hotel prices can be significantly lower. Direct hurricane strikes are rare, though passing storms can bring overcast skies for a few days at a time.

If you're coming for Carnival, aim for late January or February and book months ahead. If you're here for windsurfing or kitesurfing, the trade winds peak between May and August, making that period ideal for watersports.
