Great Guana Cay is the largest of the barrier cays and has a more spread-out feel than Hope Town or Man-O-War. The village at the northern end is small and low-key; the main draw is Nippers Beach Bar, perched on the Atlantic-side dunes and serving as the social centre of the cay. On Sunday afternoons in season, Nippers runs a pig roast that draws boats from across the Abacos.
The Atlantic beach below Nippers is excellent — a long, exposed stretch with good surf for bodyboarding on windy days and flat turquoise water closer to the reef. The cay is reachable on Albury's ferry from Marsh Harbour.
