Renting a car is the most practical way to explore Grand Bahama Island — public transport is limited and the main sights (Lucayan National Park, the beaches) are spread out. Within Port Lucaya and the nearby beach areas, walking is fine. Freeport International Airport receives direct flights from several Florida cities and from Nassau.
