Waterfront Café

The Waterfront Café sits right on the Careenage, with tables on a terrace looking directly onto the inner harbour. It is one of the oldest tourist-facing restaurants in Bridgetown, and while it is not cheap and the cooking is not groundbreaking, the location is as good as it gets in the city: boats bobbing a few metres away, the Parliament Buildings visible across the water, and a breeze off the harbour that makes midday lunch bearable.

The menu covers local and international dishes — grilled flying fish, lobster in season, pasta, salads. The flying fish sandwich at lunch is reliable and reasonably priced. The bar does a decent rum punch. It attracts a mix of cruise passengers, expats, and local businesspeople; it is popular enough that a reservation is sensible for dinner. Open daily from lunch through dinner.
