Getting There

The most pleasant approach is to fly into St Thomas (USVI) and take the ferry from Charlotte Amalie or Red Hook to Road Town. The crossing takes 30–45 minutes and runs several times daily. This avoids the tiny, inconvenient airport at Beef Island (EIS), which handles small turboprops only and requires connections through Puerto Rico or Sint Maarten for most travellers.

If you are flying directly, Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport on Beef Island, just east of Tortola over a short bridge, handles inter-island flights and some charter services. San Juan (SJU) is the most common connection point.

Cruise ships dock at Road Town harbour.
