Sage Mountain National Park protects the wettest, coolest, and most forested patch of Tortola — a fragment of cloud forest on the spine of the island, with mahogany trees, tree ferns, lianas, and a tangle of vines that feels nothing like the dry coast just below. A short, well-marked trail loops to the summit in around an hour.
The views on a clear day stretch across the whole archipelago — Jost Van Dyke, Virgin Gorda, the USVI in the distance — but the forest itself is the more rewarding feature. Bring water and decent shoes; the trail can be muddy after rain. Modest entry fee, paid at the gate.
