The Evergreen Cultural Centre is the principal performing and visual arts venue in Coquitlam. It opened in 1997 on the southern edge of Town Centre Park and contains a 257-seat proscenium theatre, two visual art galleries, a recital studio and several rehearsal and teaching rooms.
The programme is a mix of professional touring performances and local cultural productions — typically jazz, folk and chamber music, contemporary dance, smaller-scale theatre, and a substantial children's and family series. The Art Gallery at Evergreen shows a rotating programme of contemporary art by mostly British Columbian artists, with admission free.
The centre is open most days from 10am to 8pm. It is a 5-minute walk from Lafarge Lake–Douglas SkyTrain station and shares a parking lot with the Coquitlam City Centre Aquatic Complex. Tickets for performances are sold online and at the box office.
