Kelowna Waterfront

The Kelowna waterfront — centred on Stuart Park and the City Park beach to its south — is where the city comes to swim, sunbathe, and watch the mountains. Okanagan Lake is remarkably warm in summer (temperatures can exceed 24°C in August), and the beach at City Park is one of the best urban beaches in Canada, with firm sand, clear water, and a view of the William R. Bennett Bridge stretching across the lake to the west bank. The Hot Sands section south of the bridge is the most popular sunbathing spot.

The boardwalk along the waterfront connects the park to the marina and downtown, passing through a string of restaurants and cafes. In summer, the floating stages host outdoor concerts and the Saturday Kelowna Farmers' and Crafters' Market draws the city's best producers to the adjacent parking area. The park can get very busy on August weekends — arrive early or be prepared to wait for parking.
