Mission Hill Family Estate

Mission Hill Family Estate is the most architecturally ambitious winery in the Okanagan — a hilltop complex in West Kelowna designed to resemble a Tuscan abbey, with a tall bell tower, a barrel-vaulted wine cellar, and a terrace offering one of the finest views in the valley. The estate has won international prizes for both its wines and its architecture, and the combination of serious winemaking and serious design makes it the obvious first stop on any winery visit.

Tours take visitors through the cellar and production areas; the wine tasting focuses on the estate's flagship Oculus red blend and its Pinot Gris. The outdoor amphitheatre hosts a summer concert series (Mission Hill Summer Concert Series) with internationally known artists in a setting that is hard to beat. A story
The main tower of Mission Hill, which dominates the winery's hilltop silhouette, was designed by architect Tom Kundig after owner Anthony von Mandl made the unusual decision to build a winery that would look like a European abbey rather than a functional wine facility. The bell in the tower was cast in Burgundy; the amphitheatre hosts summer concerts that draw international artists.
