Chesterman Beach

Wide Tofino surf beach with long walks and storm-watching

Chesterman Beach is one of Tofino's great walking beaches, a long sweep of firm sand facing the open Pacific. Surfers come for the breaks, families come for the space, and in winter the beach turns into a front-row seat for storm watching.

At low tide you can walk far along the sand and around the tombolo toward Frank Island. The beach is residential rather than wild, but the scale of the Pacific keeps it from feeling tame.
