Vernon's restaurant scene is small but improving. The downtown along 30th Avenue has a cluster of independent places worth trying, and the farm-gate culture of the Okanagan means local produce — tree fruits, wine, orchard vegetables — appears on menus across town. Prices are well below what you'd pay in Kelowna or Vancouver for food of similar quality.
