Akshayuk Pass

Akshayuk Pass is the park's central corridor, a roughly 100-kilometre route between fjords, glaciers, rivers, and granite peaks. It is the reason most travellers come to Auyuittuq.

The pass can be travelled on foot, skis, or by other season-dependent means, but it is never a simple trail holiday. River crossings, cold, wind, and remoteness define the experience.

A story
Akshayuk Pass is often described as a natural corridor through the Baffin Mountains. For Inuit travellers it is not wilderness in the empty sense, but part of a lived and travelled landscape.
