Battlefield House Museum

War of 1812 house museum and battlefield park in old Stoney Creek.

Battlefield House preserves the Gage family home and the grounds tied to the Battle of Stoney Creek, a turning point in the War of 1812. For Hamilton, it is one of the clearest places to connect the modern city with the older settlements along the lake shore.

The visit combines period rooms, a small museum, and open parkland around the monument. It is strongest for travellers interested in Canadian-American border history, but the green setting also makes it a pleasant break from downtown Hamilton.
