Christie Lake Conservation Area is a roomy outdoor escape on the edge of Hamilton, centred on a reservoir with trails, picnic grounds, and seasonal swimming. It is less dramatic than the escarpment waterfalls, but far easier for a relaxed family day.
The conservation area is useful when you want space: cycling, disc golf, paddling, or simply a lakeside picnic. A car makes the visit much simpler, and summer weekends can be busy when the beach is open.
