Scugog River Trail

The Scugog River Trail follows the river north from Lindsay through wetlands, fields, and woodlands. It's a flat, easy walk or cycle — the kind of trail that rewards patience rather than effort. Great blue herons stand in the shallows, and in spring and autumn the riverside vegetation is alive with migrating songbirds.

The trail is part of a longer network linking Lindsay with the Trans Canada Trail. Several sections run beside the river where you can launch a canoe or kayak for a paddle downstream. The Scugog empties into Lake Scugog, a large, shallow lake popular with bass anglers.
