Nathaniel Dett Memorial Chapel

Nathaniel Dett Memorial Chapel is a small wood-frame church built in 1836 and recognized as a National Historic Site of Canada. It served the Black Methodist Episcopal congregation in Niagara Falls and is linked to the Underground Railroad history of the region.

The chapel is modest, but it adds important context to a city better known for spectacle. It is worth a short detour for travellers interested in Black Canadian history, early Ontario churches, or the cross-border stories around Niagara.
