Port Burwell is on the Lake Erie shore in Elgin County, about an hour south of London, Ontario and three hours' drive from Toronto. There is no rail or scheduled bus service into the town — a car is essentially required.
By car: Take Highway 401 to exit 216 at Tillsonburg, then Highway 19 south. The drive from Toronto along the 401 takes 2.5–3 hours; from Niagara Falls about two hours via Highway 3 and the 401; from Windsor and Detroit around 2.5 hours.
By air: The closest airports with scheduled service are London International (CYXU, 65 km north) and Hamilton (CYHM, 130 km east). Toronto Pearson (CYYZ, 200 km) has the widest international service but is the furthest drive.
By boat: Port Burwell has a small public harbour at the mouth of Big Otter Creek, with floating docks and a Transport Canada lighthouse channel. Most arrivals are recreational craft cruising the Lake Erie north shore.
