Things to Do

Port Burwell punches above its weight for a town of fewer than a thousand people. The Marine Museum and Historic Lighthouse is the heart of the place — a wooden lighthouse from 1840 that is one of the oldest still standing on the Great Lakes — and the HMCS Ojibwa is the unlikely star turn: a 90-metre Cold War submarine pulled up on land beside Otter Creek and open for tours. Add the long sand beach at the Provincial Park and you have a more than full weekend.
