Getting There

Most visitors arrive at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), the country's busiest, about 25 kilometres northwest of downtown. The fastest way in is the UP Express train, which runs from the airport to Union Station in about 25 minutes; a taxi or rideshare takes longer and costs more in traffic.

Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ), on the Toronto Islands at the edge of downtown, handles regional flights and is reachable by a short pedestrian tunnel or ferry — remarkably convenient if your route allows it. Union Station downtown is the rail and regional-transit hub, served by VIA Rail trains from Montreal, Ottawa, and beyond, GO Transit commuter trains and buses across the region, and intercity coaches.
