The CF Toronto Eaton Centre on Yonge Street is the downtown shopping anchor, a vast mall with hundreds of mainstream stores. For luxury, the Mink Mile along Bloor Street West and the boutiques of Yorkville hold the international fashion houses and the flagship Holt Renfrew.
The more characterful shopping is in the neighbourhoods. Kensington Market is the place for vintage clothing, records, and food stalls; Queen West for independent design, art, and books; the Distillery District for galleries and craft studios. St. Lawrence Market, named one of the world's great food markets, is essential for edibles, busiest on Saturdays when the farmers' market joins it.
