Royal Alexandra Theatre

The Royal Alexandra Theatre is one of Toronto's grand old performance houses: a 1907 Beaux-Arts theatre with a gilded interior, a long run of touring plays and musicals, and the kind of old-stage atmosphere that newer venues cannot fake.

It sits in the downtown theatre district, close to King Street West restaurants and the city's other big performance spaces. Even if you are not seeing a show, the exterior is worth a look while walking between the Financial District and the waterfront.
