Sutton

Eastern Townships village beneath Mont Sutton, with ski glades, forest trails, vineyards, and a Loyalist main street.

Sutton is a small Eastern Townships village with more depth than its size suggests. The mountain is the main draw, with skiing in winter and forest trails the rest of the year, but the village itself has a pleasant Loyalist-era main street and a good food-and-wine habit.

This is not a place for a long checklist. It works best as a slow day from Montréal, a ski weekend, or a base for walking and cycling the roads near the Vermont border. The local mix is French, English, rural, and quietly alpine, with vineyards and maple woods close enough to stitch into the same afternoon.

Bars and Cafes

Sutton's drinking scene is small, local, and practical after a day outside. The best stop is the village microbrewery.

Eating Out

For a village, Sutton eats well. Most useful places sit along Rue Principale, so you can choose after a walk rather than plan the whole day around a reservation.
