The Ranario keeps around 25 species of frog in habitat tanks arranged along a winding indoor walkway. Most are local to the cloud and rainforest, including the red-eyed tree frog, glass frogs, blue jeans dart frog, and several species of leaf-litter frog.
Most frogs are nocturnal, so the place is at its best in the evening — entry to the Ranario is usually valid for the day, which means a second visit after dark is included. The guides are good at finding hidden specimens you would otherwise walk past. A short, cheerful, easy stop.
